Line up with the tip of the rooftop antenna and the closest corner (front left) of the box on top of the building. Run and jumpthrow.
Lineup is the same for both 64 and 128 tick, however the release time for the smoke differs slightly.
On 128 tick, release roughly around reaching maximum run velocity.
For 64 tick, the release is a bit later. To help with 64 tick timing, the smoke should fall through a gap in the roof that can clearly be seen if you noclip above B Apartments, or hit the roof just before this gap and rebound into the right-side wall, finally landing in a similar position. If the smoke lands on the far side of the roof, the smoke was released too late, if the smoke lands on the close side of the roof or on Short B, the smoke was released too early.
